Creating meaningful Jewish experiences for children, teens, and families that take place in the context of our diverse and welcoming community is an important priority. Through experiential Jewish education alternatives like Havurah and Jewish Journey Project, Shabbat and holiday celebrations, and a variety of Jewish programming during the year we help foster individual identity development as well as communal connections. The Wasserman Center for Family Life is honored to be a part of your family's Jewish journey at every age and every stage.

Classes include:

  • Shabbat Club (18 months-3 years):  Greet Shabbat with your child and learn about Jewish traditions through music, movement, art, and exploration. Develop a special family Shabbat routine by celebrating together as a community with the weekly experience of reciting blessings over candles, juice, and challah.

  • Infants + Young Children Shabbat Dinners:  Welcome Shabbat with appetizers and cocktails at 5:30 pm, followed by an interactive sing-along from 5:45-6:15 pm. Blessings and dinner to follow. Grandparents and extended family members are welcome to attend. All levels of observance welcome. Pre-registration preferred. Strollers must remain in the lobby. Dietary laws observed.

  • PJ Library Storytime: Celebrate Jewish holidays and traditions in a monthly storytime featuring the PJ Library's rich selection of books, stories, and songs for children.

  • Sing Along: Bring your little ones to welcome Shabbat with singing and dancing. Join the celebration on the first Friday of every month.
