The JCC in Manhattan invites you to take part in an exciting new experience for high functioning adults in their 40's and 50's with learning or developmental disabilities. The 40's and 50's meet-up will provide a variety of social experiences including dining out, dating tips and opportunities, cooking, trips and more. We'll begin with speed friending- a fun way to meet new people and get to know new participants- and have a quick orientation to the summer schedule and any changes that may be happening over the next few months. Licensed drama therapists and trained theater artists lead group members through an engaging, interactive sixweek session that inspires creativity, confidence, and a sense of community. Through the practice of theater skills using theater games, improvisation, poetry, and art, members explore their creative abilities, improve communication skills, and increase self-esteem.
